Today is the feast day of the Mass. What is the Mass? The Mass is the Last Supper. The Mass is the death of Jesus on Calvary. The Mass is my guarantee that God loves me -Who would suffer and die for me unless they loved me? The Mass is my guarantee of forgiveness -Jesus paid all my debts for me on the cross. The Mass is my guarantee of resurrection from the dead. -After dying on the cross Jesus returned and lived among us again.
On the night he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread, and after he had given thanks, he broke it, and he said,This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' And in the same way, with the cup after supper, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.
Whenever you eat this bread, then, and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord's death until he comes. ' So every Mass is presenting again, for my benefit, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Every Mass presents again, for my benefit, the guarantee ofGods love and forgiveness and of my resurrection from the dead.
