The angels told the shepherds ‘I come to bring news of great joy’.
I was reading something recently about this news of great joy and it went as follows.
In the word Joy the first letter is J; this stands for Jesus.
The second letter is O; this stands for others.
The last letter is Y; this stands for you.
So if you want to share in the real joy of Christmas you must put Jesus first. Then others, and last of all yourself.
This is also the good news that Jesus brought to me. If I put Jesus first in my life I will try to help and be generous to others and this will prevent me from being greedy and selfish.
This is what the joy of Christmas means. This is the way I will make my Christmas happy too.
So remember JOY. Jesus first, followed by others and last of all yourself.
