Faith

Tenth of Year A - Faith, Prayer & Good Works

June 2008

Being a Christian is a balancing act.

Being a Christian is like being a camera on a tripod.

The three legs of the tripod are faith, prayer and good works.

If the three legs are nor properly balanced then your camera - your Christianity - is lopsided to a lesser or greater degree.

Faith, to be genuine must inspire me to prayer and good works.

Prayer, to be genuine must flow from faith and produce the fruit of good works.

Good works to be truly Christian must be inspired by faith and lead to prayer.

None of us will get the balance just right but nevertheless faith, prayer & good works must be involved in my Christianity.

If I find that any one of the three are largely missing, then I need to reconsider my approach and possibly seek spiritual direction and guidance.
